Osmond Property Consultants was set up by Chris Osmond to provide specialist professional advice to both owners and occupiers in the retail property sector.
Chris has over 35 years experience in the retail property sector. As an equity partner he has been head of retail lease advisory services at two of the top three UK retail consultancy firms, Hillier Parker (now CB Richard Ellis) and most recently Cushman & Wakefield. He has also spent 5 years in the same role at specialist retail advisors, CWM.
Chris’ main specialisation is providing advice on large retail stores. This includes food stores, both in and out of town, and town centre non-food stores. He also has extensive experience in dealing with large shopping centres, as well as other general types of retail property, including in particular those located in Central London. He also specialises in the retail property market in Gibraltar.
His clients include many property company and institutional landlords such as British Land, Aberdeen Standard Investments, and Redevco, as well as retailers such as Tesco. Chris is a preferred supplier to British Land in relation to food store advice.
Chris specialises in arbitration matters, and has received appointments from the RICS as arbitrator or expert on rent review and lease renewal disputes for over 20 years, and more recently on pubs code disputes and the recently convened commercial rental independent evaluation panel. He also frequently receives appointments direct from the parties to a dispute. He is also chairman of Arbrix, a 500 plus member organisation looking after the education and other interests of practicing property arbitrators and experts across England and Wales.
Chris is always happy to undertake unusual tasks and projects in relation to any type of retail property.
