Chris has over 40 years’ experience in the retail property sector.  As an equity partner he was head of retail lease advisory services at two of the top UK retail consultancy firms, Hillier Parker (now CBRE) and Cushman & Wakefield.  He also spent 5 years in the same role at specialist retail advisors, CWM, now part of CBRE.

Chris’s main specialisation is providing advice on large retail stores.  In particular this includes food and convenience stores, both in and out of town, and town centre non-food stores.  He also has extensive experience in dealing with shopping centres, both large and small, as well as other general types of retail property.  Central London is also a specialist location for him.

His clients have included many property companies and institutional landlords such as Supermarket Income REIT, British Land, Land Securities, Delancey, Threadneedle, Abrdn, and Redevco, as well as retailers such as Marks & Spencer and Tesco.

Chris specialises in arbitration matters, and has been a member of the RICS panel of arbitrators independent experts for over 25 years.  He was also recently chairman of Arbrix, a 500+ member organisation looking after the interests of practicing arbitrators and experts in England & Wales.
