Food Stores
Chris acts for landlords in negotiating best possible market rents in relation to rent reviews and lease renewals on food and convenience stores, both in and out of town, across the UK. He also provides advice in relation to lease regears where additional value is released by restructuring existing lease terms. The size range of these stores varies from town centre convenience stores of just 3,000 sq ft, up to superstores of over 130,000 sq ft.
Chris also regularly acts as arbitrator or independent expert in relation to the rent reviews on this category of property, and has also accepted many appointments by agreement in relation to lease renewals through the PACT referral process.
Chris also frequently provides rental valuation advice in connection with food store investment acquisitions and sales, including larger company transactions. This is an area where discretion is often required, and Chris, as a sole practitioner, is in a good position to handle confidential and sensitive information
